Are we born with leadership traits or can they be learned?

I believe the answer is "both".  To be a leader takes certain personality traits and these are instilled within us from the time we are born.  However, it also takes a lot of knowledge to be considered an effective leader. Even if we are born with certain traits that does not mean we will make a good leader.  On the other hand, even if we are very knowledgeable about the subject of leadership we may not have the character needed to attract followers. In order to be a leader, we need to have within us certain traits as well as to learn the necessary skills.
